Family holidays in Ahrntal valley and Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures

Adventure and fun for young and old

A successful family holiday must offer something for every family member and be fun. The Ahrntal valley in South Tyrol is ideal for this challenge – variety for every age from 0 - 100, whether it be spring, summer, autumn or winter.

During a family excursion on buggy friendly hiking trails our youngest guests will be completely satisfied. Every village has a children’s playground. Families with children of every age find the appropriate play equipment. Running, climbing sand boxes, climbing frames, slides and seesaws.

With the children fun program “The Farmhouse Gang” children aged 6-12 can experience wood and water and the variety of South Tyrolean agriculture with all the animals on a mountain farm in the summer. Tension and action for the whole family is guaranteed in the "Alpine Coaster Klausberg-Flitzer".

In the South Tyrolean theme nature parks in Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures and Kasern/Casere children learn in a playful way how the mountains originated and what’s about the plants and animals. On the Kneipp trail in Weißenbach/Rio Bianco (with playground) children lean the effect of water and also on the sun trails of the Ahrntal valley there are different playing opportunities. Little bookworms can rummage in the shelves of the public libraries.
For the adventurers in the family you can top it with witching hours at the Taufers Castle, a ride on the mine railway in the mining museum in Prettau/Predoi  or with rafting on the Ahr.

Our family-friendly accomodations in Ahrntal valley offer a family friendly ambience for a successful family holiday in South Tyrol and are looking forward to welcoming their adult and little guests.

For children a visit to the zoo is a special moment, as the animals can be touched and stroked. During the summer, there will be born new animal-babies.

Whether you are young or simply young at heart, the toboggan run at the Klausberg summit station delivers a nice kick of adrenalin to all thrill-seekers.

Landscape slides Speikboden

In 2023, a brand new adrenaline rush is coming to the Speikboden. We can’t wait to welcome you to CROSS WOODS, Italy’s first forest slide park.
In July, things will really get off to a flying start when the first visitors go speeding down the four landscape slides. Meanwhile, newbies to the world of sliding can find their feet in the small slide field
under the trees.

And it goes without saying that CROSS WOODS is a zero-emissions attraction; visitors walk to the top on foot and are whisked away by the force of gravity and their own body weight.

Fly-Line Wasserfall

Betake yourself on a spectacular journey through the woods: swing your way through the trees soundlessly like a bird through narrow and wide curves, with small and big jumps back down to the ground. An adventure for the whole family.

Balance Parcour Klausberg
Sort of like a high ropes course and yet different. The balance-parcours at Klausberg will make you tremble. Here the little ones have the possibility of mastering obstacles in several different ways.

It all takes place at a safe, yet exciting level. This parcours is to be found directly at the water world. Here, skill and balance are required, but do not worry, nothing can happen. The obstacles are placed at a very low level in order to ensure optimum safety.

Caution: The tyrannosaurus rex is already waiting. Get your cable car ticket Klausberg and travel back in time. Triceratops, stegosaurus and co. are awaiting the guests.
Copper-Mine Museum of Prettau/Predoi
For more than 500 years the area was a hub of copper mining. Today the mining museum in Prettau is one of the valley's main attractions and gives a fascinating insight into life working underground many centuries ago. The journey down into the mine on the original miners' railway is an experience in itself.

The adventure trail starts directly at the mountain station of the Klausberg cable car. The adventure begins at the “Goat phone” station: whisper your secret message in the goat’s ear – who can hear it? Find it out! Continue to the “Animal banks”: here you can have a short rest before testing your balance skills at the stations “Cow ringing” and “Feeding crib”. The “Goat tree” is the last obstacle before you reach the finish line on the “Cow slide”.
